In the spring of 2015, a group of women came together to build community and support one another. It’s a group of women that gets together the third Monday of the month for a general get-together. There’s childcare, and a meal, and something to hear about and learn. Members have a covenant to serve one another and the community. When they do so, they earn credits to spend at the WU store, on things that aren’t available with most public support: household and personal care products. They also have classes, in nutrition and cooking, or childcare, or other things.
The group gets support mostly from First United Methodist Church, but is mad elf from people across Albion who understand how important it is for women to build one another up in community.
Interested? Contact the church, find Albion Woman United on Facebook, or just come to a monthly meeting and meet everybody.
